Place the fabric of the landscape throughout the area to be mulched. Overlapping edges 3 inch plastic stakes placed at the end of each length of the landscape fabric. Buy the stone mulch. Choose a color and size to complement the surrounding landscape. Buy enough to cover the entire area at least 2 inches deep.

Transport stone mulch to your garden. The stone is the heaviest of all mulches so plan to have someone to help you move the bags from your car to your garden. Extend the stone mulch evenly throughout the bed. High and low level areas using a rake to achieve a uniform distribution.
